The Atomik Barbwire RTR Brushless RC Boat is one of the best remote control boats available in the market today. This deep V-shaped boat zips through the waves with ease while reaching the speeds of 25 miles per hour. It is one of the fastest boats you can get. It is very responsive and long-lasting and comes at a very low cost.
The Atomik Barbwire is quite durable and can withstand crashes with other boats while remaining unscathed. Hence, you do not have to worry about the hull cracking if the boat runs into a rock or another boat during a race. Since it comes rtr (Ready to Run) you do not have to worry about purchasing a transmitter or a battery. The transmitter that comes with the boat set has a range of 450 feet, which is enough for you to run it across a large pond or lake. Moreover, it comes with a 9V battery for the transmitter, and it takes approximately one to two hours to charge the boat. The battery lasts for ten minutes, which is an average run time for an RC boat. The set also consists of a display stand, some extra propellers, and a charger.
The outstanding feature of the boat is the Barbwire’s ability to handle choppy water without difficulty as it slices through the water like a bullet. Due to its speed, the boat does not hold close to the water; instead, it bounces off like a skipping rock. The adjustable turn fins and trim tabs allow for precise turning. The RC boat has a competition-ready running gear and race-engineered hull. The sleek black and red design make it look like a million bucks. The boat includes Dynamite marine electronics that have been overhauled to resist the rigors of high-speed action on the water. That’s not all! It also has a water-cooled Dynamite marine brushless motor. Since it is mostly made up of fiberglass, the boat can take everything that the water throws at it.
Atomik Barbwire Battery Details:
The type of battery this boat uses is a Venom 20C 3S 1500 mAh LiPo battery and a Venom 2-3 Cell balance charger. The barbwire battery tends to last around 10 minutes. If you're looking for an upgrade you can always get a 2200 mAh LiPo battery that would last you longer.
Atomik Barbwire Upgrades:
A lot of people have been asking me about the type of upgrades that you can use for the atomik so let's get started.
Motor: Although some people have mentioned it I found it incredibly difficult. It's almost impossible to take out the current motor without destroying the motor mount.
Prop: The prop is probably one of the easiest upgrades for the Atomik barbwire. My recomendations are a x632 prop or Octura x432.
ESC: Highly recommend upgrading the ESC. At it's current 30A i believe it's lacking. I would say anywhere between 35-50 A ESC A would be perfect. If you still want to increase beyond that do keep in mind that this boat is sensitive to it's weight.
